Let’s keep the NWP network connected even in times of Corona! The world is being hit hard by the Corona pandemic, that we know. But how is Covid-19 affecting the worldwide water sector? What issues are experts facing? What obstacles are there that need to be overcome? And maybe an even more important question to ask ourselves, where do we see opportunities and possibilities to move forward? 

During this first online ‘NWP Meet-up’ event, we will take a virtual world tour and share a brief overview of what is happening in the international water sector. We will connect and focus on Water, Hygiene and Sanitation (WASH); the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); investing in water; the challenges water intense industries are facing; and the need for sustainable water technology solutions.

Ensuring access to water for water-intense industries offers opportunities: how can companies in the long run use the current situation to speed up investments for commercial and sustainable water technology solutions?

The Kenya Innovative Finance Facility for Water (KIFFWA) is experiencing how Covid-19 can speed up certain drinking water initiatives, but it also stresses the need to keep the long-term focus on investments that are still needed for sustainable long-term drinking water solutions.
